The school canteen service plays a fundamental role in children’s food education: healthy eating is essential to ensure students’ physical and mental well-being, supporting their growth and development. EGS’s primary objective is to offer balanced, tasty meals every day that are suited to children’s nutritional needs, while promoting awareness of healthy and sustainable food choices.

Canteen Service Objectives

  • Promoting a balanced diet: ensuring meals are rich in nutrients, with the right combination of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals.
  • Nutrition education: teaching children the importance of a healthy diet and how to make informed food choices.
  • Sustainability and respect for the environment: using fresh, seasonal and, where possible, locally sourced ingredients, minimising environmental impact.
  • Food inclusivity: offering options for children with special needs (allergies, intolerances, vegetarian, vegan diets, etc.).
It should also be noted that the menu is divided into two periods of the year: Autumn-Winter & Spring-Summer and is different in the EY and Primary & Middle School sections.
