There are stories that speak about talent.
And then there are stories that speak about choice, sacrifice, and resilience.
This sports-focused workshop is born from the meeting of two authentic testimonies, capable of going beyond the court and touching deep emotional, family, educational, and human chords. The workshop is organized in collaboration with Pallacanestro Cantù, a club that has always represented not only sporting excellence but also an educational and moral reference point for the local community. Thanks to this partnership with Pallacanestro Cantù, the event is part of a broader journey that places young people, families, and personal growth through sport at its very center.
Erick Green, the team’s new guard, will be present at the event. With him, we will step into the “behind the scenes” of a professional athlete’s life. Not only the bright lights of the arena, not only the applause, but also the distance from loved ones, the sudden departures, the homes changed like pages in a book, the friends said goodbye to too soon. The daily discipline, the pressure, the solitude that sometimes accompanies great choices. We will speak about sacrifice as an act of love toward a dream, about the true cost of pursuing excellence, and about how, precisely in that distance from loved ones, an inner strength is built — one capable of transforming every difficulty into growth.
Michele Carrea, assistant coach, will instead explore a reality that is often invisible yet extremely relevant today: the almost exclusive use of the English language in the daily life of a professional basketball team. The locker room as a crossroads of cultures, accents, and different mindsets. English not only as a technical language, but as a human bridge — a tool for integration, leadership, and responsibility.
Through his personal experience, he will share what it means to adapt, to communicate, to lead, and to feel part of an international group without losing one’s identity. Because sport today is also this: openness, exchange, and the ability to understand and be understood.
There will be one common thread: resilience.
The resilience of those who leave home to pursue a dream.
The resilience of those who change cities, languages, habits, and start over each time.
The resilience that basketball teaches: to fall, to rise again, to defend, to try once more.
A moment of inspiration open to families, students, and young athletes — and to anyone who believes in the educational value of basketball. Not just a simple meeting, but an opportunity to reflect together on sacrifice, growth, identity, and the future.
Because behind every game there is a story.
Behind every basket there is a choice. And behind every dream achieved there is someone who had the courage to endure.
We look forward to sharing genuine emotions, authentic testimonies, and a powerful message:
resilience is not just a word. It is a way of living.
